ENROLMENTS AND ZONING

Families living within the school zone have automatic right to enrolment. At times, depending on class sizes, some places may be offered to students outside of the school zone. Parents are encouraged to enrol students on or before their fourth birthday and before each child turns five a school interview and orientation visit will be arranged.

For information regarding enrolment, or appointments times, please contact the school office.

If you are a New Zealand resident please check the School Zone website to get an idea if you are in our school zone.  If your address is on the boundary of our school zone please verify with the school office. You can also check your address on the list of streets on the map below.

If you are in our zone please fill in the domestic student enrolment form below and send it back as soon as possible to: office@sherwoodprimary.school.nz

Please be aware, we are currently not balloting for any out of zone students. 
 
N.B. Please attach proof of residence and a copy of the birth certificate or passport of your child.
 
 

PRESCHOOL VISITS

We are running a pre school transition programme called “Little Acorns” which has been designed specifically for transitioning pre-enrolled children turning 5 into the school setting. Parents are invited to bring their child to attend this programme before starting school.

There are usually 3 sessions will be held on Wednesday morning from 9.00 am until 10.00 am

“Little Acorns” is an opportunity for parents and children to become familiar with school expectations and for your child to get used to the school environment and systems.  During these sessions your child will use school literacy and numeracy equipment and we aim to make the time together fun as well as informative.

 

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Sherwood offers a number of places to foreign fee-paying students. International students are integrated into mainstream classes in order to learn English in a natural way and fully experience our culture. It is also a wonderful opportunity for your child to share his or her culture with other students and to experience the best educational opportunities available.
