A group of Year 5 and 6 children have entered the Tournament of Minds Problem Solving challenge. This programme is a nationwide school vs school competition and allows the children to use their talents and skills to answer a ‘big problem’ through performance.
The children have spent Term 2 learning some amazing skills, such as how to think outside of the box, how to have stage presence, and how to think on their feet - just to name a few! Next term, the teams will be given a choice of problems which they have 6 weeks to solve. They are not allowed help from anyone outside of their team, that includes teachers or parents! This is very much their challenge!
In early September we head off the Auckland championships to present our work - it’s a fun and exciting day for everyone! Here are some photos of some of the training sessions so far!
